It’s here with a bang. Well, sort of. Nvidia finally announced that the GTX470 and GTX480 cards are ‘released’ (on paper anyway) and allowed reviews to be released for the cards.

Whilst not actually available to buy yet, Nvidia have lifted all NDAs on reviews for the new GTX470 and GTX480 cards.

Some retailers have published expected prices for the cards once available on April 6th:

ASUS GTX470 1280MB £319.99 (Overclockers)
ASUS GTX480 1536MB £448.99 (Overclockers)

More at Overclockers

If we are compairing the prices to the current AMD cards, the ASUS 5850 retails for £224.99 whilst the ASUS 5870 retails for £319.99. Current benchmarks show that the 5870 easily beats the GTX470 whilst the GTX480 is slightly quicker at the expense of power usage and heat, along with cost.

Photos of the new NVIDIA Fermi Tesla card have been leaked to the internet. Tesla is NVIDIA’s super-computing card, not meant for gamers, but we expect the consumer cards to have a similar design.
