Big news this morning as the NDA has been lifted on the new cards meaning they can now go on general sale. Scan have pre-orders for the 5850 here and the 5870 here with it’s prices for the 1Gb 5850 starting from £229.29 for the XFX model, and £312.72 for the 1Gb 5870 MSI model. So far the only card in stock is the Sapphire card at £344.41.

It’s worth remembering that, at the moment, all cards are reference with absolutely no difference between manufacturers apart from the odd sticker or two. We will have to wait to see what differences the manafacturers can bring in the future.

Edit: Overclockers have the 5850 cards for pre-order at £198.98 and 5870 cards for £299.99 and ebuyer have 5870 cards for pre-order at around £300, which are better deals than Scan. It’s a real shame to see a respected retailer overcharging customers so much.
